Contrary to recent media reports, there are exactly zero discussions about Medicaid “cuts,” in the actual meaning of the word. What is being discussed are reductions in the rate of increase in the Federal share of future Medicaid spending. In every scenario currently being considered, the Federal government is projected to spend more on Medicaid than it does today.
